The growing uncertainty and concern that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused in our communities has brought a greater need for communication and solidarity as we work together to support our neighbours, friends, and family in this time of need. As an organization dedicated to supporting the gluten-free community, we hope to provide these additional resources to our members and the public at large who may be looking for further information.
Our National association has gathered excellent resources on their website, including a message from the Professional Advisory Council regarding celiac disease and coronavirus (to put it briefly, patients with only celiac disease are not immunocompromised).
You may be interested in knowing which food establishments are currently offering gluten-free take out or delivery options in British Columbia. As our Board of Directors is located in Vancouver, these establishments are mainly based in the Lower Mainland. But should you have one to add to the list, please email info@bcceliac.ca.
In an effort to provide as many options as possible, this list includes establishments that are not dedicated gluten-free but who have been known to be "celiac-friendly". Please keep yourself safe and ask questions if you are ever unsure of food preparation practices. Restaurants and bakeries marked with a (*) are dedicated gluten free.
